Welcome to the Library!

The St. Ignatius Catholic School Library serves all students and staff of the St. Ignatius Catholic School community.  Our library collection is split into “High” and “Prep" sections. 

SUMMER READING!

Keep reading over the long Summer Break!  Read books at home, on the beach, by the pool, in the car, on a plane, while waiting in an airport!  It doesn't matter where, just read!  Get 'readiculous about reading'!

PREP
In the “Prep” section we have picture books, fiction books and non-fiction books for a large range of interest levels and reading abilities. 
Kg-Year 1 students have a library time weekly.  Years 2-6 have a library time bi-weekly.  The library is open for “Open Exchange” for Years 2-6 Thursdays, period 1. Teachers may also schedule additional times at the library if needed for research.

The library is open for the Prep side students to borrow books on Mondays 7:15-7:55 and Tuesday s-Fridays 7:15-8:05, lunch time, and break time in addition to their normal scheduled library time.

HIGH
In the “High” section we have fiction books and nonfiction books as well.  We also have a section with study guides, career information and higher education information for the upper school.

The library is open for High School students Mondays 7:15-7:55, Tuesdays-Fridays 7:15-8:05, lunch time and break time. High School students can use the library for reading, to borrow books, research, games, and to use the computers.  In addition, the High School students are welcome to use the library to do work at any time.

ON-LINE ENCYCLOPEDIA
The library subscribes to an on-line encyclopedia which can be used at home or school. This encyclopedia has information suitable for all ages of students.  Here is the information for research at home.

SCHOLASTIC BOOKS

The library also organized Scholastic book orders. Scholastic offers a large variety of books at affordable prices. By organizing the book orders we get a continuous supply of new books for our library.  Scholastic book orders are sent out approximately once a month.  Prep students receive the order forms form their teachers. High side students receive an announcement to collect order forms from the library when we are ready to place an order. Scholastic books usually arrive within two weeks of ordering.

ST. IGNATIUS COLLECTION
At St. Ignatius we use a library system called Destiny. Check out the link to see the books we have in our collection.  You can search for books by title, author, and subject.  You can also read a brief summary on each of the books.

DONATIONS
The library always welcomes donations of both old and new books.  Feel free to drop off any donations at the library.
